About The Author
My name is Hardin Crowder, and since October 2022 it has been my joy to serve as pastor of historic Dover Baptist Church in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia. Before the Lord called me to this pastorate, I spent ten formative years at Highland Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi, serving first as Student Minister and later as Family and Discipleship Pastor. In every place I have served, my aim has remained the same: to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, shepherd the people of God, and equip the saints for the work of ministry.
Outside the ordinary work of pastoral ministry, I enjoy writing, preaching, and speaking on matters of theology, Christian faith, culture, and the life of the church. My writing has appeared in Christianity Today, and I am currently under contract to publish with Victorious Hermit Books. I am especially drawn to writers and thinkers who treat truth as something discovered rather than invented, who honor the givenness of the world, and who read patiently enough to see that the deepest things are not always found on the surface.
When I am not in the office or out visiting church members, I love spending time with my wife and daughter. They are my greatest earthly joys. I also enjoy local community life, the parks and trails near our home, and long companionship with history, poetry, theology, and good books. Writing has long been a source of delight for me, and I treasure quiet moments that allow me to reflect on God’s creation, ponder His kindness, and draw fresh strength for the work He has called me to do.
