God of light and new life, as the days grow warmer and new life begins to appear around us, help us to slow down and appreciate the beauty of your creation. Let the rebirth and renewal we see around us be a constant reminder of the glorious resurrection on that first Easter Sunday. Remind us of the springtime of our own soul, that moment when we who were once dead in sin were raised to new life in Christ.
As the winter chill begins to fade and the flowers of spring begin to bloom, help us to remember that a new creation is dawning. Help us to look forward with eager anticipation to the day when you make all things new, when sin and death lose their grip on creation once and for all. May we who hold fast to these promises be messengers of joyful assurance, always quick to give an answer for the hope found in us.
When we find ourselves awoken once again by the singing of songbirds, may we also wake to sing your praises. Do not let our song be silenced by the burdens and worries of this life, but rather teach us to sing with joy in all circumstances – knowing that all things are under your sovereign watch and care. May our hearts ever be in tune with your grace, which we receive new every morning. Let our peace be a beacon that leads others into your holy peace.
Amen!
